Tranquil and quiet. Perfect for a stroll with the noise of the waves. The large rocks at high tide give a perfect view for a picnic when the weather is nice. Easy to find car park at the bottom of the bank. It fills quickly on a popular day. Free after 6pm if you fancy a walk after work to clear the cobwebs.
Close to Runswick Bay beach which is a great spot to visit. Cafe shop and toilets. The car park is often full so plan your visit. The walk down from the village is very steep. Or, take the Whitby bus (£2 flat fare) and walk from here or Hinderwell (start from St. Hildas) along the Cleveland way to Staithes which is very pretty and also has a beach, then take the bus home.
Well located carpark but quite small so get there early car park expensive
This car park was well placed for walks! A little expensive! But £6:00 for the day is bearable!
Well located carpark but quite small so get there early as fills up quickly. I arrived just after 10 and got the last spot. As it avoids the steep hill to the top car park it's popular with families and older people. The car park does not have painted bays so be prepared for some interesting parking !!
