I first came across Saltaire's Triple Choc a few years ago at the Melton Mowbray Beer Festival and it’s been haunting my taste buds ever since! If my memory serves me correctly, it won first place and is the only beer I've ever gone up for seconds, as it was that nice. Since then, I only ever found it once in a local pub, so when I saw it on offer from the brewery, I treated myself to a case. Now they’re sat at home daring me to open one, or two 😁 Hopefully, I'll get up there soon for a visit to their Tap Room 🤞
Lovely afternoon on the brewery tour with the guide Charlie. Nice to be shown around by someone who worked there. He amazed us with the process of brewing and we saw all areas. Tasting afterwards in the tap room was a great way to end it, and we stayed on for more.
Saturday afternoon tour of the brewery with George the guide. Mit just your average tour. This one is Excellent. Full history of the brewery. Great explanation of how beer is produced and the future plans. Followed by a tasting session in the tap room consisting of four beers all for the great price. Thanks to all the staff fir a fabulous afternoon....... get on this tour, we'll worth it.
Great place to stumble across when you’re out walking or even just to stay there the whole day! Great selection of lagers/ beers etc Large outdoor seating area along side a fantastic addition of a pizza van which by the way is amazing - thumbs up :)
We’ve been going to the brewery for years and it was a nice stop when out for a walk and very dog friendly. I’ve been back a few times now since the refurb and it seems to have lost all the character, old staff are gone and took the beer knowledge with them. The change to chairs from the benches mean it’s now more difficult to get seats if you’re in a bigger group. You’ve also lost a lot of the interaction with people that you’d naturally get from sharing tables and benches with others who like beer. The spritz menu idea was good but it started at £5.15 when first introduced then went up just a couple of weeks later and none of the staff seem to know how to make one without the recipe. Recently there was a sign for pork pie in the bar but the staff were asking each other about it, opted for a charcuterie board instead to try it as it was on the board, turns out it wasn’t even available and only on certain days. So many questions that could’ve been fixed by better signage to make everything run smoother as queues now take much longer than before especially having had a couple of wrong orders now and glasses not filled to the top. Edit: went on 5th September 2025 and tried the cheeseboard and was very disappointed. Don’t waste your money.
