Tranquil Lake & Circular Walk Parking at the Southern end of the lake we walked along the roadside of the lake towards the yachting club. Despite the proximity of the A171 this didn't detract from the beauty if the reservoir. The circular walk around the lake then goes behind the yachting club onto the moors. The walk is poorly signed at this point and more clear directions would be helpful. This part of the walk takes you along the edges of a nature reserve through beautiful moorland before bringing you back onto the edges of the reservoir. The wildlife along the walk was spectacular including waterfowl, soldier beetles, butterflies, dragonflies and bumblebees. Adders are common but unfortunately we didn't see any. The lakeside views are spectacular. The walk took about 1-2 hours, there are some steep inclines on the moor part, the roadside part is more accessible to all. A beautiful walk with lots of wildlife.
