Beautiful cemetary. Its very peaceful and quiet there en you can enjoy the beautiful nature there. I went there to visit the James Moody memorial but returned everyday since to enjoy the peace.
A beautiful, peaceful place to walk through, in every season. Restoration of the graves has improved the first part of the cemetery, it is very interesting with a secret garden waiting to be found. This leads to Peasholm park which is another sanctuary for the birds and wildlife living there.
It seems strange giving a Cemetery a 4 star rating, but that depends on your interests. As someone interested in both history and photography, this Cemetery is amazing. Like most urban Cemeteries, it is a haven for a diversity of flower & fauna. At times a walk in the park at others a woodland stroll. Add in the infinite variety of headstones, it is a photographer's paradise, not forgetting the seasonal variations. Plus, as a tourist it is an opportunity to escape the madness of the beach. It terms of intrest it must rival the likes of Highgate and Brompton, but with less residents.
Large pretty cemetery
