Kensington Guest House

I stayed at Kensington Guest House for three nights in mid-December while visiting my brother’s new home in Scarborough with my parents. Debbie and Jason could not have made us feel more welcome. Their warmth and thoughtful touches really made the trip extra special. My mum liaised with Debbie to book, and she was incredibly helpful, even sharing a great list of restaurant recommendations for our stay. The rooms were very clean, bright and cosy, with books, games, and DVDs to enjoy when we weren’t out and about. The showers were excellent, and the tea and coffee facilities were fantastic, with a selection of teas (including proper Yorkshire tea!), fresh ground coffee, and real milk. As many other reviewers have said, the food is absolutely amazing. Debbie’s baking on arrival was such a treat, and breakfast each morning was beautifully cooked with so much choice, plus homemade jams and preserves for toast. You really couldn’t ask for better. The location was perfect for us; just a short stroll to Peasholme Park and the North Bay, which we loved exploring, and an easy walk the other way into town and the South Bay. We absolutely loved our stay and really appreciated all the care and effort Debbie and Jason put into making guests feel so welcome. We wouldn’t hesitate to return. Thank you Debbie and Jason!

What a find, a fantastic welcome with home made cup cakes and a cuppa- Debbie and Jason where fantastic hosts, the breakfasts were well above my expectations and so was the home made sweets and cup cakes in the room, free nuts fir the squirrels in the park was a lovely touch. Placed well for attractions. Debbie and Jason were knowledgeable about the area. Parking was no problem as we were supplied with the appropriate disc. The Kensington is a homely guest house, spotless bedding, but the star feature would be Debbie, Jason and the incredible breakfast and complimentary touches,would we stay again? - definitely 😀

If you want to feel like you're staying with family (as long as you like them) stay here. Really enjoyed our stay here, the welcome we got from Debbie was lovely, and Jason is also really lovely, would've love to have chatted to them for longer. Breakfast which is pre ordered, was delicious, and the omelettes are out of this world. My only criticism is the bed for me was too soft but that's personal preference, and you even get a fridge in the room, not even some 5 star hotels offer that. We will definitely be back.

Recently came back from here after stopping for a long weekend. The place was great. Debbie and Jason where fantastic hosts. The room was spacious and cosy. The bed being the best we have had in Scarborough. The breakfast was also the best as well. The location is just a few minutes from the north bay and peasham Park. Would definitely stop again.

If it was possible to give this place a million stars I would. This B&B is a labour of love of two of the most purest souls in the world. Jason and Debbie welcome you into their home with sweet treats, bakes, advice about all the best places in town (given in understanding of your specifc taste) and the best breakfast which has the most beautiful attention to detail cooked by chef Jason himself. Everything is within a 20 minute walk including north and south bay. A perfect spot for a traditional British coastal holiday. Every day is treated like the best day, you will definitely notice Debbie's warm and welcoming nature and Jason's odd hints of his favourite films, music and pop culture slipped into the best B&B in scarborough.
