I strongly advise against booking this hotel. I regret ignoring the negative reviews, and I hope others won’t make the same mistake I did. Unless you want to experience what it’s like visiting Pyongyang. From the moment I arrived, I felt uneasy. The front entrance was covered in cameras, which created an oppressive and uncomfortable atmosphere. Within minutes of arriving, I received a message commenting on my movements—something that felt more suited to a high-security prison than a hotel. The communication with the owners was tense and passive-aggressive. They introduced themselves as part of a “security team,” which added to the unwelcoming vibe. Nowhere in the hotel’s policy did it state that bicycles weren’t allowed in the rooms. I’ve stayed at lots of hotels in the UK with my bike, and I’ve never had an issue until now. When I brought my bike inside (it’s expensive and not something I’m willing to leave outside overnight), I was told—quite aggressively—that I had to remove it or leave within half an hour. Fortunately, I was able to find another hotel nearby where the staff were kind and understanding. I could relax after a long day cycling for Manchester in poor weather for a charity event. I lost the full cost of my room—money that could have gone towards my fundraising. To make things worse, the hotel deducted money from my deposit for a towel that was never even used. It’s clear to me that this business prioritizes surveillance and penalties over hospitality and human interaction. A good hospitality business is built on mutual respect, empathy, and service—not suspicion and hostility. The management's approach was completely unreasonable. I hope they reconsider how they treat their guests In future.

No frills but good value, very easy service, spotless and a stunning location. I read reviews and was worried when i broke a mug. They had no issue gave all deposit back. Some bad reviews are just people expecting 5 star hotel for less money these guys keep it cheap simple and clean.

They fraudulently took an extra £30 on top of the fee I paid for on booking dot com, then they harassed me with phone calls and messages falsely accusing me of smoking in the room. Then, when I complained today, they stole £60 fromy bank account! This is far from over, please avoid these criminals They are even so petty as to ask you to pay per towel used, here is a screenshot that I paid this bs

We had a lovely stay here. The stairs were not too bad to the room. The shower was a bit tight and the water did get very very hot unexpectedly and did burn a bit. Views from the window were stunning and the host (Lisa) was great with the information to get into the room. Great value for money
