Recently refurbished. You will never starve staying there. The Menus are extremely varied and you can eat as much food as you want. We stayed in one of their Twin rooms which has both a double and a single bed. The room is like a small suite with several chairs, plus a TV with Freeview and free WiFi throughout. There is the usual ensuite toilet and shower room. Very friendly staff, and you can even order a newspaper for the next day to collect from reception. Drinks prices in the Concert Room are not cheap, but they do sell a range of bottled Real Ales. The hotel is owned by the Leisureplex Group and we took a holiday there using Alfa Coach Holidays part of the group, who also provide several excursions within the price.
Room cold , had to turn on radiator on 2 hours before wanting to use shower. Room was under the function room which was noisy due to entertainment. This hotel caters for coach parties and I was the youngest guest ! And I'm 65 The breakfast time needs to be more relaxed for non coach visitors
Has a lovely 5 days, great customer service. Very efficient service in the restaurant & great choice of food.Hang on to the chef in charge,he runs a very well oiled machine.
Like being transported back to a hotel in the 80s. Our family stayed here for a night, booked a few days in advance for a good 3 figure sum that wouldve got a nice hotel in London. I found it hilarious how it took me back to my youth being taken on holiday with my Nan. The novelty rapidly wore off though. The room was stuffy, very small with an old hard double bed. The bathroom was tiny and I'm amazed how some of the 70+ clientele (around 90 percent) contort themselves out of it. Looking forward to breakfast, it just got worse unfortunately. A single hour sitting with a mob of people all entering at once, causing a 15 minute traffic jam for the lift. The cold selection was 4 cereals, yogurt and fruit salad. No meats, pastries... No anything nice really. The coffee was instant barely drinkable. The quality of the English breakfast was mixed but the sausage was poor. Please spend some money on upkeep and give your customers something of value.
In my opinion, the finest building to grace the scarborough skyline...a really well kept art deco gem!The rooms are excellent, food was exceptional along with the service...definitely one of my favourite Alfa hotels!
