We spent 3 nights at the Palm Court while visiting family in Scarborough. Had a very pleasant stay. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful - the atmosphere of the hotel was very nice. We had Sunday lunch which was excellent too. Also the location was ideal, close to the seafront and the shops. Also very good value with the special offers. Thoroughly recommend the Palm Court!
Nice welcome on arrival with pleasant staff. The hotel as a whole and the rooms in particular appeared to be run-down and lacking in amenities. However, both in the lounge and the dining room, the food was excellent. Close to shops, sea front and buses. Good location. It has it,s own undercover car park a short distance away.
Nice welcome on arrival with pleasant staff. Rooms and hotel in general seemed to lack t.l.c. and seemed a little run down in places. The food however was very good both in the dining room and the lounge. Close to shops, sea front and buses. Good location. It has it,s own undercover car park a short distance away.
After visiting last year at the same time of year for nibbles & a glass or two of champagne & cocktails, we decided to do the same this year at 12.30pm. They had removed a few tables & chairs from last year, so the seating where we had been was full. We proceeded to the dining area which wasn't full, to be asked if we had booked. We said no, as we had come last year without the need to book. We were told that they were fully booked, but then asked if we were resident in the Hotel. I said that surely it was irrelevent if we were residents or not, if they were fully booked, then that was it, resident or not. As we were leaving, we saw a table was vacant where we had been last year, but were then told that we could drink there, but food was not allowed - I said that we had done the same last year, but got the response that that was last year, not now & we needed to book...talk about looking down their noses at us - their loss, lost out on £100 worth of takings....will not be returning.....
Popped in for a Sunday roast, after struggling to find a decent place for dinner in Scarborough that didn't just do fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch and the quality of the food was excellent. Very reasonably price and even though we felt under dressed we were treated with respect. Thank you Palm Court, your staff do you credit.
