Wow Wow Wow Fantastic place, quirky, Historic and very smart. You will think your SatNav is lying because you wont spot it until you are literally 50 Yards away. Entrance is hidden up an alley in an old part of town but this is a little oasis hidden away within it's own gated yard. The lighting on a night is an awesome spectacle. Honestly cant recommend enough.

Just had three nights here, great place, lovely hosts, the place is a credit to all their hard work and commitment. Tastefully restored, spotless, comfortable rooms. Quite location, but walking distance to town.the courtyard is beautifully lit in the evenings, adding to an overall welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely stay again.

This review only applies to the room at the top floor of the windmill itself. We stayed Oct 2024. After reading all the 5* reviews, we thought this place would be much better than it actually is. Honestly, they oversold it. I wish I had read the review I am about to write before I booked this place. Positive: the views are great and the lady who runs the place is a gem. But the room is musty and they clearly know this because there is a dehumidifier and filter running 24/7 but it doesn't help. The musty smell permeates the carpet and, worse, the bedding. Speaking of, the mattress is hard and old and the pillows flat and cheap. The fitted sheet was threadbare and nothing about the bedding speaks of quality. If comfort overnight isn't important, then you can enjoy the very nice upper floor that has a fully equipped kitchen and comfy sitting area (but wifi doesn't reach it). Be careful on the catwalk, it has not been pressure washed for a long time and when wet, it is very slippery. I also don't understand why they have dozens of dvd's but no dvd player. Can't make sense of that. Maybe stay in the cottage rooms that so many other reviewers rave about because the windmill is nothing near 3 stars much less 5. It's close to some good pubs and excellent restaurants and the area is quiet and safe. They have 5 or so parking places. 10 min walk (minimum) to the shopping high street and 20 to the beaches.
