Two months ago, my friends and I learned of this bench being the longest railway bench in the world and it became one of the "must-sees" of our trip to northern England. We visited today and were not disappointed! For a bench to be 200 years old and supported only by a cantilevered foundation, it is in amazing condition! I love the blue paint too! Many thanks to the Scarborough Railway for keeping this gem accessible and maintained. I encourage all to visit it!

This is a remarkable feat of construction. A mighty fine bench, most certainly in the top 3 benches I've ever sat on. It was an unforgettable experience, sitting on such a long bench you just feel really held and spacious. There's all the space you would ever need, you don't need to worry about taking up too much space. This was an emotional experience for me to feel like I wasn't taking up too much space, some might call it spiritual.

Extraordinary, really. Said to be the longest railway bench in the world. These days, it is quite a distance from where most of the trains are, but worth a visit. Not keen on the current paint job. Like much of Scarborough, it's covered in seagull guano; they have a real problem with that in the town.

This bench exceeded my expectations. It was well looked after and extremely robust. I almost wish I had a train ticket just so I could enjoy waiting on this bench. If I was a writer this bench would deserve its own chapter.
