In Scarborough for a trip to the theatre and not very mobile at the moment, I decided to visit Scarborough Art Gallery. There is a charge of £5 but this is actually for an annual pass to the Art Gallery and the nearby Rotunda Museum. I explored the ground floor which had a small shop and 2 excellent exhibitions in place. I would have liked to go up to the first floor, but there is no lift and the beautifully sweeping staircase was a little too challenging for me on this occasion. Unfortunately the toilets are on the first floor.

Totally worth it for £5, which also includes admission to the Rotunda Museum. The exhibition 'Atkinson Grimshaw: At Home in Yorkshire' is gorgeous. The staff is friendly.

This is a little hidden gem tucked away in a beautiful crescent just off the city centre. When I visited they had a wonderful if compact exhibition of works by Atkinson Grimshaw and another of works produced by local prisoners, which was powerful and moving. And the staff were lovely - friendly and welcoming!

Super visit to see the Atkinson Grimshaw paintings which are superb . Very worthwhile visit to such a lovely gallery which included some amazing portraits and exhibitions relating to Scarborough as a tourist attraction. This evoked memories of holidays with my parents and sister in the late 50’s , donkey rides , the beach , travelling by train from Widnes and seeing Frankie Vaughn at the Futuristic. And great £5 admission gives me an annual pass . Thank you !

£5 to get here and in tut rotunda museum. They have a temporary exhibition on the ground floor and paintings on the first floor. The best thing was seeing the scrap book that someone made in the last century. Ehm, the paintings are good too, but just not really my thing.
