This is a pleasant area to escape to. Benches are available to sit and enjoy the garden, the birds and the squirrels which are so tame they will take nuts out of your hand. The Esplanade is the perfect place for viewing the entire Scarborough South Bay as well as the castle ruins.
A new community building, 'Beeforth's Hive', is taking shape in the £7m restoration of Scarborough's South Cliff Gardens project. Named after George Lord Beeforth who had created the rose garden here in 1883, with 14,000 rose bushes, sheltered from the sea with conifers.
It should be great pleace to spend romantic tome when roses will bloom
Just please do not put any shop next to these gardens as I csn see the foundation of some sort of building. These gardens are special because are quiet a and clean.
Fun feeding the squirrels there and a peaceful place to walk around
