OYO Cocketts Hotel

The rooms are small but clean and serviceable. It was comfortable enough and everything was available for us such as tea/coffee and biscuits. The young lady on reception and at breakfast the next day was very nice and the breakfast was large enough with plenty of choice. The location is excellent and despite our room overlooking the main road we didn't hear a thing and had a good night's sleep. I would definitely stay here if I ever visit again. Thank you.

Absolutely fantastic stay, Emma the lady on reception/breakfast and at one point cleaning was really who made our experience, we booked this place as we were starting our trip and made our way back to it as we finished our trip in Scotland. Breakfast was fantastic and we really did feel care for while there… So much so we will be booking Christmas in the dales and with our new found friends in Cocketts hotel!

It needs cleaning and renovating. Initially noticed the dirty carpet at the stair base and torn carpet on the stairs while being escorted to our room. The first room we were expected to stay in was awful. The smell and general cleanliness was poor. There was mold and damp all over the room especially in the bathroom. The mattresses felt very worn, I could hear/feel every spring just sitting on it. The front of house responded with “what were you expecting” when I raised our concerns. We were offered an alternative room which wasn’t clean or habitable either. Found hairs on the bedding also in this one. We left without staying and without a refund.

We had a great stay. The room was lovely, my only minor grumbles are it would have been nice to have a glass or paper cup in the bathroom. And the absence of batteries in the hand mirror mirror, or a light above the bathroom mirror, made it tricky getting ready to go out. Apart from that (& I'm being very picky there), it really was great. Huge thanks to chef for swapping my hash browns for fried bread at breakfast - & what a breakfast it was, set us up for the whole day. I really liked the outdoor area too. It was lovely sitting under the shelter with a cup of tea (Yorkshire tea bags in the rooms) watching the world go by. We'll most certainly be returning.

Home after a 2 night stay at Cocketts Hotel. We loved it, a lovely hotel situated in an ideal location for lots of interesting places. Ample parking, a superb host (top marks for turning the heating on ~ I feel the cold) Lovely cosy rooms with excellent tea and coffee provisions. I highly recommend this G of a hotel
