Absolutely delicious homemade Thai food! Good prices and generous portions. We loved that 90% of the menu could be made vegan. We will come again if we're coming back to this area!
A unique way of serving Thai street food, in takeaway containers to your table. Our food was amazing, from our generous portion starters, to our freshly cooked mains. We cannot fault a thing. Friendly helpful staff and good value meals. Some of the best Thai food that I have had.
Only rating 1 star because we have to - would give 0 if we could đ called to place an order and asked if they do chips after having ordered everything else (understand this is not traditional but most Thai places do and our toddler loves chips, was a simple question with a simple answer) and were laughed at and told âgo over the road if you want to mix chips with your nice Thai foodâ. I gather from an earlier review which mentioned that the host repeatedly commented on an âunadventurous orderâ and besmirched customers for not ordering starters that this is common practice here. The nasty man on the phone then asked who would be coming to collect and my husband said âI am, my nameâs Willâ and was told âoh right Iâll just put âI amâ then, shall Iâ. When we asked how much it would be he refused to tell us over the phone and said âyou can find out when you get hereâ. Immediately called back and cancelled as have never been so rudely spoken to by anyone working in customer service, and was shouted at down the phone with aforementioned nasty man barefaced lying about what he had said even though he had been on loudspeaker. We are all in shock but added a good giggle to our Saturday evening. Perhaps stretching themselves too thinly running a hardware shop and a restaurant and should consider lightening the work load so theyâre better able to deal with the general public. Editing my review in order to accommodate the response. I also âhappened to overhearâ the conversation and am well within my rights to label said nasty man as such given the way he spoke to my husband. Customer service is as much an important part of the experience as the food itself and like many others I will not offer my custom to someone incapable of providing decent customer service, regardless of how good the food is - hence the review. We have never stayed in Settle before therefore all we had to go off was the quality of the customer service, which was abysmal, again hence the review. Had the customer service been anywhere close to par perhaps we would have been more inclined to try the food and leave a better review. To say nobody forced me to leave this review is very out of left field - would you say the same to people leaving a good review and why is that what you immediately jumped to? Suspicious if you ask me. The gas being off in Settle is irrelevant as we were not aware at the time we placed the order and were not informed by said nasty man that that was the case, and regardless it is nothing to do with us and he shouldnât be inflicting his own stress on customers. We also cannot be expected to know that the restaurant does not run on gas, or that it uses an old till, and were never made aware of any of this on the phone, and even if we had been aware it wouldnât change the fact that itâs unacceptable to speak to a customer that way when all we had done was call to place an order. All these are just excuses for shoddy customer service and yet another man who doesnât know how to handle stress. To call asking a UK-based restaurant in the year 2025 if they serve chips a âsilly questionâ is the real stretch you speak of but I suppose it would be an even bigger stretch to expect a restaurant owner to be able to also run a hardware store AND maintain composure when talking to customers AND fry some potatoes đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Tucked away above a shop, this hidden gem has a great view over Settle. I received a really warm welcome, despite being slightly dishevelled from a night of camping and a hike, and was given the best seat in the house - next to the window. Neil helped me to navigate the menu and explained the style of service, and when I mentioned that the only Thai food I've tried before is Pad Thai, he suggested trying the massaman curry for a change. Between this and the Thai fishcake starter, I left incredibly full and truly satisfied. Roz is a great chef, and if I hadn't been camping (i.e. without a fridge) I would have been tempted to order more and have leftovers. I'll definitely be back next time I'm visiting :)
Great food, lovely staff and BYOB! We really enjoyed our evening here.
