Settle Household Waste Recycling Centre

What a lovely bunch! Just took some wood that we needed to recycle from the new house and the guy helped us empty the car whilst the other staff member was making sure everything was swept clean!

Very tidy facility. The staff are great and very helpful.

Visited the Refuse Tip this morning in SETTLE and found the lady very friendly and helpful and advising me what rubbish goes into which unit also offered to help but I declined because I didn’t really have anything heavy. and could manage, So it’s a big 5 ⭐️ from me 👍🏻

October 1st '23 - closes at 4pm NOT 5pm. Google/other websites NOT updated. I suffer chronic, disabling arthritis and pain. My daughter trailed all the way from Wigan on her day off, to take stuff to the tip for me, having checked websites first which stated 5pm. But it was closed. What the heck am i supposed to do with it all now?????? OK - if you fumble through the council website you'll find it - but she's tired, using her day off to do this and it wouldn't take much to have made this more public - say - google ? NOT IMPRESSED. Much better off with smaller local councils - but this is the result of the shambolic GOVT holding us to ransom to get their own agendas accepted. RUBBISH

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful but I was amazed when I was asked to pay £3.50 for some broken glass. It was a roof pane from the greenhouse. I have read that you should not put smashed glass in the recycling bin so we took it to Settle. I will think twice next time!
