Had a walk through this old area that was on my to do list for a while, the cemetery was abandoned a while back but it's an interesting walk these days. There are some great views of the city higher up but if you stay on the lower trail you will be among hundreds of graves in various states of disrepair. There has been work to maintain the area with is much appreciated. The area is clean and footpaths are clear and well worn so you won't get lost. Met a few nice people around there, some were on a walk and other from the local area.
Nice little walk, but Gypsy camp set up, so best viewed during the day.
It's an interesting piece of history and a great little walk. May I also add the travlers camp site nearby is safe and despite past post, they are nice people and helpful and pose no trouble at all! So worth a visit, Reading some of the stones are interesting.
This cemetery is good the one problem I have is there are a lot of dead people, I go to the cemetery because I am a Gypsy and everywhere I look there is a grave, also people give us weird looks and avoid us. In 2021 we saw this person who gave us a review who said "Nice little walk, but Gypsy camp set up, best viewed during the day." that was very insensitive to us and we didn't do anything to them either we were just chilling.
Really interesting and so lovely to see how well renovated from last time I visited about 30 years ago when all graves fallen and hidden in undergrowth. Lovely spot by river.
