Located in Hillsborough Park, Hillsborough Library is an old stately home originally owned by the Dixon family along with the walled garden and rest of the park. Hillsborough Hall as it was originally called was built in 1779, and opened as a public library in 1906.

On the 20th May the Hillsborough library website said they were open until 4pm. When I arrived at 2pm the library was closed "due to staff shortages ". Many people had the same experience, some disabled. Why not put that information on the website? A pathetic and needless inconvenience basically because nobody cared about the public.
