Absolute joke of a place,cps sat about deliberating whether they will do some work but won't, have simppering people skulking round the place apologizing for the inconvenience of not hearing a case,4 cases in court 3 today got told to go home?? I have no fear of the leagal system anymore

In this day and age I would have thought the legal system would treat men and women equally. After experiencing domestic abuse against myself and children the court still found in favour on the woman. My needs and experiences were totally ignored, in my opinion the court system is still very bias against men. I was told by my solicitor it's luck of the draw what mood the judge is in to what judgement you get. Hardly equal in the eye of the law. If you are male wanting justice think long and hard about going to court, regardless of the evidence you have. My children and I have been let down by social Services, the police and the legal system, and another child abuser gets rewarded by are brilliant legal system

The building feels dated inside, the walls look like they've attempted to be washed. Presumably, the building having been built in 1995, the wall stains are nicotine stains pre the ban and have not been washed down successfully since. The security is certainly done thoroughly, which in itself is a great thing. Most staff seem friendly and helpful if youre unsure where to go. Even accommodating if you need to wait for a lift and its raining, giving you somewhere dry to sit while you wait for your lift. Only advice would be to pack a small bag and nothing excessive as generally you'll have to unpack your back for security and repack it, it can be tedious if needed to go in and out a few times a day.

My wife was called for jury service for which she had to travel seven miles (14 miles per day for 4 days) on public transport. We had to arrange care for myself as I'm recovering from a course of of Radical Radiotherapy for ENT Cancer and am also struggling with severe COPD and Paranoid Schizophrenia and the effects of the many medications I take for my Illnesses. After finishing her first day early this afternoon, she called me to say that she was lost In Sheffield (we live In Rotherham) and couldn't find her way to the bus station. She was given no map or written instructions for Jurors attending on public transport. No directional material was Included In the 'Jurors pack' which they sent through the post. My wife called me In distress - what were we supposed to do? Thankfully, by going online I was able to provide her with directions, although I had to talk her through the directions for almost a half-hour. I find It difficult to understand how the court system can be so uncaring and Ignorant. They put the both of us In a difficult situation and - more seriously - left my wife wandering around an unfamiliar place without any help or advice. If this Is how they treat jurors, It's little wonder If some are reluctant to offer their services. We don't all have vehicles and the courts should surely be aware of this? They refused to reimburse Taxi fares, so the Bus was the only choice. Also, my care costs were £8.95 p/h but we are to receive only £2.50 p/h from the court despite surviving on benefits. We were both happy for my wife to attend - after all, It's our duty as British citizens. But should It be at our own expense and with such inconvenience? It makes me wonder If the criminals aren't only those who are on trial (although I say that with tongue firmly In cheek, of course). Very disappointed.
