We went late closer to the closing time. We had piping hot, fresh dishes one after the other made to order. Thanks to the chef and team for staying back and cooking us. Chilli clam and chicken with cumin are blockbusters. Chengdu's famous noodles were savoury and sweet. In summary, there is an authentic Chinese restaurant in Sheffield food map with a tasty menu. Trust me you would not be disappointed!

Wanted to try this place for ages and so came for a midweek meal. All I can say is wow - the food is absolutely incredible. Tried the twice cooked belly pork, tofu mapo and cucumber in chilli and vinegar with some handmade noodles and everything was perfect. So full of flavour and authentic. Best meal I've had in a long time. One not to miss!

I had been looking forward to visiting A Journey to Chengdu as I love Szechuan cuisine. This did not disappoint and surpassed my expectations. The food was so sublime; we ordered crispy pork with a spice mix, pan fried pork dumplings, sweet and spicy noodles (my favourite), cucumber salad, spicy beef and noodles soup and the sticky rice cakes ( forgot to take a picture of these but they were delicious). The staff were so lovely and there was loads of food, we took a lot home with us as we couldn’t eat it all. Can’t wait to go again.

Went there on a cold day and the sweet waitress gave me and my partner hot water because she saw we were cold. ordered one of the make your own soups which was very spicy but it was the best spicy ever, it was delicious and definitely worth the price. dumplings are also very tasty. i recommend the homemade iced lemonade, best ice tea i ever had. everything is very cheap considering portion sizes.

My family and I regularly visit Sheffield and tend to, more often than not, visit the same places to eat, but this time, after a visit to the nearby KH Oriental Supermarket (excellent place), we decided to try A Journey to Chengdu. We were welcomed by the staff and seated I short order. After scouring the menu, we chose some simple meals as we weren't sure what to expect. The food arrived quickly but not quickly enough to be suspicious and looked delicious. We were very happy with the food. It was hot, well presented, and delicious. The staff were very helpful and polite, and we were made to feel very welcome. There are a number of asian restaurants in the immediate area, and I am keen to try them all but will definitely return here. All in all, it was a great experience. It's not particularly expensive either. £54 for 2 mains, 2 rice, 2 sides, a soup, and 2 drinks. Fantastic place and well worth a visit.
