李記兰州拉麵(Lan zhou pulled noodles)

First stop on my mission to find the best noodles in Sheffield was Lanzhou on West Street. WOW - we both chose the Spicy Braised Beef Brisket with no broth and we both loved it! A massive portion, so many noodles (the weight of that bowl!), lots of flavour, spicy as promised, the beef was tender. We couldn’t fault the noddle dish at all. Though the restaurant itself needs a good lick of paint and is definitely no frills, it's obvious that the quality is in the flavour and food served. There was a constant steady flow of people coming in and bowls coming out of the kitchen. Notes if you're visiting - it's pay by cash and walk-in only, but we managed to squeeze onto a table so all good! No alcohol is served here, but I believe you can take your own or there is a small selection of soft drink available. The menu was a little vague for us (though the staff seemed very friendly so we probably could have just asked them to explain some of the meals to us) so we just chose this particular dish as it was the only one that sounded like the sort of flavours we fancied at the time, and it was spot on.

The front of the restaurant is not much to look at, nor the interior decoration but dont let it deceived you with high standard of the dishes. You come in and pick a table yourself...order at the front, food will be delivered to your table. Order pickled cabbage & beef shin in a broth £ 9.90 with braised tofu as an extra £1.20. The portion size is big, filled with noodle (chewy & just cooked perfecly) to the rim. The broth is full of flavour. The beef shin is a little tough, but not stingy in portion size. Perfect for student and budget conscious customer.

Best noodle spot in the uk, I still can’t find anywhere that does portions as big as here, service as fast and also price this low. Go to is the biang biang noodles with a beef brisket soup noodle it’s super comforting with unlimited vinegar and chilli oil to go with it. Ordering is at the counter and is cash only, but it’s so worth for the portions and price and boss man is kind too. Pure comfort food.

SO GOOD!! Got the No.13, beef and pickled cabbage. it was amazing. the best noodles i have ever had, the portions are incredible and the broth is so full of flavour , everything is so well priced and service is super fast! literally amazing, worth every penny, definitely go!

Simply exquisite hand pulled noodles. Authentic, well priced and tastes divine. Full of flavour and constantly busy. The portions are absolutely massive so you definitely aren’t left short changed. No reason to not give it a try!! Dropped by again to try the braised beef brisket without broth and arguably even better. A huge portion of fresh noodles that are deceived filling with a generous amount of flavoursome, juicy beef brisket.
