Went for afternoon tea, very nice but a little pricey. Was seated next to the door so spend a lot of the time cold
Lovely setting and helpful staff however would have liked different things on the savoury side and slightly less on the sweet. Wasn't the best way of sending us home with what we had left - in a kebab box. A nicely presented bag/box would have been a nice touch.
I always drove by this place and I thought what a cute little café! So, Today, I finally walked by it and decided to have a late lunch. It was around 15:15. I was politely acknowledged upon arrival. I asked the lady who welcomed me what was good. She couldn't help and she sounded like she was not familiar with the menu. I had read the menu on the window before I entered, so, I ordered "Leopold Salad", which I thought it was a little bit pricy for a salad (£8.50) but that was not a problem. I found a table and as I was sitting down, the lady came back to tell me that they would close at 16:00 and I had to finish my food by then or she could wrap it to take if I didn't finish!!! I just told her that as long as they'd prepare the food on time, I should be done by 4. The salad came. Looked pretty good and it was delicious. The ambiance also was as good as what it looked from the outside. As I was eating, around 15:35, one of the staff started sweeping the floor around me and a few others, which made me pretty uncomfortable, as making dust around the food was not the most sanitary idea! I made sure I finished my meal by 15:45, "how relaxing"!!! The guy who was sweeping the floor, sweetly asked if I enjoyed my meal. I simply told him that the food was great, but him sweeping around me didn't help. He only said: "okay!" Here is a suggestion: why don't you close the door at 15:15 and let whoever is still in, finish instead of taking new customers and tell them you eat fast or we'll kick you out? Closing at 4 means you close the door at 4, not kicking the sitting customers out and start sweeping and cleaning while they're still eating. It's a shame that a place with such good food and cozy ambiance has such a terrible approach and service.
I meet up with friends for lunch once a month and we love it. Bright and airy place with friendly, helpful staff. Tried the full veggie breakfast today and it was delicious.
It was a disappointing experience. The service was awful. Although I reserved a table in advance, they don't prepare the table. No tablecloth, the cake was tough, the staff weren’t friendly. It doesn’t worth money. I paid for nothing, and I’m ashamed of my guest.
