Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position : Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location : Rotherham, Sheffield, Doncaster, Chesterfield, Barnsley Hybrid : No - this role is office based Sector : Heavy engineering, capital plant and equipment Salary : According to experience but likely to be in the £50,000 - £70,000 bracket Visa Support : No, you must already have the right to live and work in the UK English language : Customers are based all over the world and whilst they all speak English, it is as a foreign language. You will need to have first class spoken and written English language skills and to be able to explain things clearly. This role is a full-on engineering design role and will comprise Heavy engineering equipment design Structural steel design and analysis - loads, deflection, buckling etc Materials handling design Design for fabrication, assembly and installation - weldments, bolted structures etc Access, safety and ergonomics design - Working at Height, Machinery directives Ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards - guarding, stops, emissions etc Load and failure analysis - static, dynamic, FEA etc Problem solving and root cause analysis - FMEA, 5 Whys etc Materials knowledge, ideally with some exposure to castings / forgings About You : Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar is very much preferred Chartered Engineer status beneficial Experience of large CAPEX plant projects CAD literate FEA CFD Mathcad Able to travel internationally when required Clear written and spoken English language skills
