Business Development Manager Location: Sheffield Department: Sales Reports to: Sales & Marketing Director About the Role We are seeking a commercially driven and technically aware Business Development Manager to support our continued growth within the global sealing solutions sector. This is a pivotal role responsible for driving revenue growth through new customer acquisition and the identification, development, and conversion of new business opportunities across a diverse range of industries and sales channels. The successful candidate will combine strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of the sealing solutions markets. You will play a key role in expanding our customer base, strengthening long-term partnerships, and contributing to the strategic direction of the business. Key Responsibilities Business Development & Growth New customer acquisition Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within key markets and sectors Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive revenue growth and market expansion Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline from initial lead generation through to contract award Establish and nurture long-term relationships with OEMs, distributors, and end users Act as the primary commercial contact for new accounts Market Insight & Strategy Build and maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity, and customer requirements to inform the growth strategy Support business planning by providing accurate sales forecasts, reports, and market analysis Contribute to product development initiatives by sharing customer and industry insights Commercial & Technical Delivery Understand customer technical requirements and recommend appropriate sealing solutions Translate customer needs into clear technical and commercial proposals Negotiate pricing, contracts, and commercial terms in line with company guidelines Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to deliver tailored solutions Performance & Leadership Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs including revenue, profitability, new customer, acquistion, and pipeline velocity. Ensure activity aligns with wider business strategy and departmental objectives Monitor and report on performance, demonstrating continuous improvement Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism and accountability in all interactions Operational Excellence Maintain high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction Ensure compliance with internal processes, including performance reviews and reporting requirements Support continuous improvement through adherence to SOPs and service standards Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows About You You are a results-oriented business developer with a passion for winning new business and building lasting client relationships. You thrive in a technical environment and are confident engaging with both commercial and engineering stakeholders.
