<p><strong>FIRE AND HEALTH & SAFETY RISK ASSESSOR</strong></p> <ul> <li>SRVO • £Competitive, aligned to experience • Remote - Leeds / Sheffield</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>ROLE OVERVIEW</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a Fire & Health & Safety Risk Assessor to join SRVO’s expanding Risk team, carrying out site-based Fire Risk Assessments and General Health & Safety Risk Assessments across a varied portfolio.</p> <p>This role is ideal for an experienced assessor who wants stable work, clear standards and the support of a growing compliance team, without being micromanaged.</p> <p>You’ll work across Northern England, assessing internal and external common parts and producing clear, actionable reports. The work covers a mix of environments including residential, commercial, industrial and education settings, giving you genuine variety rather than repetitive site types.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>ROLE EXPECTATIONS</strong></p> <p>This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent judgement and the ability to produce accurate, well-structured risk assessments that clients can act on.</p> <p>You will be expected to manage your own diary professionally, carry out assessments efficiently and consistently, and maintain a high standard of reporting and record keeping.</p> <p>You’ll also be confident liaising with clients, attending meetings where required, and providing practical advice aligned to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and relevant health & safety legislation.</p> <p>The role is primarily regional, with occasional travel and overnight stays depending on client requirements.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS improved safety and compliance outcomes across client portfolios</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>HOW YOU’LL SPEND MOST OF YOUR TIME</strong></p> <p>Most weeks, you’ll be:</p> <ul> <li>Conducting Fire Risk Assessments and General H&S Risk Assessments in line with best practice</li><li>Producing clear, accurate reports with prioritised actions and required works</li><li>Supporting clients to understand findings, compliance requirements and next steps</li><li>Liaising with property managers to support timely resolution of fire and H&S issues</li><li>Assisting clients with remedial work schedules where required</li><li>Attending client meetings to discuss findings and compliance planning</li><li>Peer reviewing and validating works and recommendations</li><li>Providing technical advice aligned to relevant legislation and British Standards</li><li>Working to agreed KPIs and supporting continuous improvement across the Risk team</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p>You’ll work remotely between site visits, managing your region across Northern England.</p> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>WHO THIS ROLE IS FOR</strong></p> <p>This role suits someone who:</p> <ul> <li>Holds a NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent Level 3)</li><li>Holds a NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent Level 3)</li><li>Has proven experience conducting Fire Risk Assessments and H&S Risk Assessments</li><li>Is confident producing clear, high-quality reports with practical recommendations</li><li>Has strong knowledge of fire safety and health & safety legislation, technical standards and best practice</li><li>Communicates professionally with clients, property managers and stakeholders</li><li>Is organised, self-sufficient and comfortable managing their own diary and workload</li><li>Holds a full, clean UK driving licence and is willing to travel regionally (with occasional overnight stays)</li></ul> <p>It would be advantageous if you also have:</p> <ul> <li>FPA Level 4 in Fire Risk Assessment (or equivalent)</li><li>Additional professional memberships or qualifications (e.g., IFE, IFSM, IOSH)</li><li>Strong working knowledge of British Standards relating to fire and life safety systems</li></ul> <p><br /></p> <p><strong>EXPERIENCE THAT HELPS</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience assessing residential buildings, particularly purpose-built developments</li><li>Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and practical remediation</li><li>Confidence dealing with client queries, escalations and follow-up actions</li><li>High accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and record keeping</li><li>Ability to build strong professional relationships internally and externally</li><li>A practical, solutions-led approach and the ability to
