<p>An exciting opportunity has arisen within this Fire Service's People Services section for a People Administrator in the Recruitment & Selection team, based at the Service's Headquarters.</p> <p><strong>People Administrator (Recruitment & Selection)</strong></p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Central Sheffield Headquarters, S1 </p> <p><strong>Hours:</strong> Full Time, 37 hours per week (Flexi Time)</p> <p><strong>Contract:</strong> Permanent</p> <p><strong>Salary:</strong> £25,949– £25,989 (Grade 3) *To increase subject to national pay award negotiations for 2026.</p> <p>The People function is at the heart of an exciting period of transformation, playing a vital role in driving the growth and success of the service. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the organisation during a pivotal time, as they deliver a range of ambitious culture initiatives aligned to their vision and values.</p> <p>In this role, you will support the People Officer (Recruitment & Selection) in delivering a high-quality, efficient and customer-focused recruitment service to colleagues and stakeholders across the organisation.</p> <p><strong>About you</strong></p> <p>To be successful in this role, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration (or equivalent)</li><li>Have a good understanding of people processes, particularly within recruitment and selection</li><li>Bring proven experience of working with administrative procedures and systems to deliver a high-quality, transactional HR service</li><li>Thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, working collaboratively as part of a small team</li><li>Demonstrate flexibility, organisation and a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and team objectives.</li></ul> <p><strong>Key duties and responsibilities</strong></p> <p>These will include:</p> <ul> <li>Delivering a wide range of recruitment and selection administration activities across internal and external processes e.g. undertaking right to work checks for all new employees, ensuring compliance with the service's policy and legislation</li><li>Liaising with candidates, hiring managers and people function colleagues to ensure smooth and efficient recruitment processes</li><li>Responding to recruitment-related queries, providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times</li><li>Completing administrative tasks accurately and efficiently, in line with deadlines, KPIs and People policies.</li></ul> <p>The employer's values</p> <p>Your style and approach will embody the organisation's values in everything you do, acting with honesty, integrity and respect. The employer offers 28 days annual leave (pro-rata) plus Bank Holidays. Annual leave increases after 5 years’ service to 32 days, followed by an extra day a year up to a maximum of 37 days. They also operate a generous flexi time attendance scheme.</p> <p>Most of the employer's corporate roles offer flexi time and agile working, meaning people can vary their hours to suit their commitments outside of work as agreed with their line manager. Flexi time can be accrued with a potential of up to 13 days to be taken within a year.</p> <p>All eligible corporate staff are auto-enrolled onto the Local Government Pension Scheme with contributions ranging from 5.5% to 12.5%.
