As a customer, I went into the Norfolk Row, Sheffield branch today to pay in some cash, which I had received from the legitimate sale of my car. It was considerably less than the £5000 cash the Coventry website says you can pay in, without any mention of a receipt being required. However, I was told by the cashier I needed a receipt, so she refused to accept it. I therefore had to leave. I asked to speak to the Manager, but was told no Manager was available. It was very disappointing as I had a made a special journey to go there & it was also extremely embarrassing, humiliating & upsetting experience for me as a customer.
I've only had to deal with them once on the phone when sorting out our first mortgage, and I have to say it was the best experience i've had with a company over the phone. Within 5-10 minutes, i was through to an advisor that was able to sort out my issue without hesitation and left me feeling relieved knowing i had chosen the right company for my mortgage. 10/10 would highly recomend to anyone!
I popped into Coventry Building Societies Sheffield Branch today to set up a Junior ISA for my Daughter. After waiting not too long at all considering I hadn’t booked an appointment I was greeted by a pleasant chap called Jeff (or Geoff? 😂) who explained what I needed and how to set the Account up. He was very professional and informative and I look forward to completing the Application and becoming a member (or should I say my Daughter becoming a member) of Coventry Building Society. Thanks again Jeff or Geoff however it’s spelt or whatever your preference! 😅👍🏻
Closing down my savings account has been a 2 month battle. First, they say they've updated my address (which, it turns out, they hadn't). Second, they request a signed hand-written letter requesting account closure (I posted this first class), then tell me 6 weeks later that they haven't received it. Countless phone conversations later and my account still isn't closed.
I have 42 accounts here. Staff are good and continually competitive products available.
