On 02/09/25, I called the GP surgery to request a call back from a doctor. The receptionist told me that a doctor would call me. I waited until 4:00 pm, but no one contacted me. I called the surgery again, and the receptionist said that the GP was open until 6:00 pm and that I should just wait for the call. Unfortunately, no one ever called me back that day. The next day, I phoned again to ask what happened. The receptionist told me that “someone tried to call” but I didn’t pick up. When I asked what time this supposed call was made, she could not give me an answer. I explained that at 4:00 pm the previous day, I had already spoken with reception and was told to keep waiting, so clearly no attempt had been made. During this second call, the receptionist was very rude and dismissive. She asked, “Do you want to book today or not?” and avoided discussing what had gone wrong the day before. When I said yes, she immediately hung up the phone. I do not feel that this is acceptable service. Patients should not feel like they are a burden or that staff are trying to avoid them. Not all receptionists are rude, but the person who answered at 9:05 on 03/09/25 made me feel like I was not being listened to or treated with respect.
Put my prescription in on the 24th Nov, for the 25th. Had a text message to say I had presented it to early, I reapplied on the 30th Nov was told today by receptionist prescription at the pharmacy only to be told they are out of stock until tomorrow 2nd Dec. So now I gone over 8 days with a medication. Not best pleased
The practitioner took photos of a skin abnormality, and did some data entry about them. She absent-mindedly shone the instrument light directly into my eye for a sustained period while doing the data entry. When I asked what the light source was, she had no idea and only knew the name of the instrument. I looked it up and it is safe, but was surprised that they don’t understand the instruments they use here. Also regarding answers to the survey of the skin conditions, I have wrong answers sent to the dermatologist because of miscommunications. When I pointed this out, I was told “Well I already sent it” then “thanks, goodbye” Please, please protect yourself: remember when you are dealing with this group that they are not trained to the level of doctors, or equivalent European practitioners. They will get through patients as fast as possible and are not particularly interested in making sure things are done correctly - whether this is apathy or time-pressure is unclear, but you cannot expect professional service, and there must be a surprisingly low bar for training.
So today I went to the surgery to drop a urine sample for my partner to be met by Yasmin the receptionist who as soon as I tried doing so she pushed out her hand and made a noise as to say no!! She then spoke very abruptly to me saying it needed a label untill she realized it actually did not as it was just for dipping.. I'm sick of these rude receptionists!! If you don't like the job or interacting with the public then why are you in this job!! It's a good one it wasn't my partner who dropped it off because she's not as submissive as me!! This receptionist needs a course in how to speak to people!!! I'll still be putting in an official complaint too!!
Nice area,great staff!
