The food is pretty crap, and the WiFi and data signal are both so terrible that you will die of boredom here. The staff are ok. But seriously you are lucky to get a minute of working internet to message a friend or family.

I’m currently on section 3 at Stanage and the staffs are amazing sometimes they might not give you leave when you ask but they always try there best to give you what you want I am still struggling but if it wasn’t for me being here I probably wouldn’t be the person I am today I probably would’ve ended up dead thanks Stanage team you do an amazing job.

Absolutely terrible hospital. Actually made my mental health worse. Was manhandled by staff and left with bruises. I had a patient who was kicking me and pulling my hair and staff barely did anything to keep her away. Bare in mind I did not go near this patient she would go out of her way to find me. In the end they moved me and not her but I'm glad they moved me.because cygnet was much better. The NHS has become a joke. also the doctors barely helped and didn't prescribe me the medication for my condition. I will say I was a hostile patient but I never hurt anyone I was abused by both staff and patients. Absolutely terrible place

my friend recently lost his brother and father in the same month leaving him with no remaining immediate family. he has battled severe depression all his adult life but naturally this loss has driven him to the brink of suicide. in desperation he volunteered to become an informal patient at this hellhole but he immediately realised that he had made one of the worst decisions of his life. after being there for just 24 hours he had already witnessed sights and experiences out of nightmare with clearly disturbed or outright deranged patients completely left to their own devices as they ranted and raved, or argued and fought with each other and him. he managed to stick it out for a week but by then he was in a much worse state than when he had arrived and so, knowing that if things continued he might not make it out of there, he asked to leave, as he had been told he could upon his voluntary admission. this was met with an appalling betrayal of trust as three members of staff tried to bully him into staying with threats of involuntary committal and the purposeful attempt to provoke him into a reaction which would be used as a pretext to forcefully detain him. for an hour and a half they mercilessly harrassed and cajoled him, contantly changing tactics as they relentlessly hammered at him from three sides, completely destroying any sense of trust and safety from these supposed care givers. he is such an emotional wreck that he has had to move in with me as he doesnt trust that he wont do something drastic if left to his own devices. in this modern age this place is more resembling of bedlam than a modern mental health fcility where people would pay tuppence to watch the chained up lunatics fling their excrement at each other.... SHAME, SHAME, SHAME. the one star is only because zero stars is not an option, now i shall go see about contacting my M.P and some journalists.
