I have just used Howells Solicitors for conveyancing and Catherine Shelton and the team have been excellent. They were organised, efficient and very responsive with communication. They also gave me the most competitive quote out of other solicitors across Sheffield. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thank you Howells.

We trusted this firm because they handled the conveyancing when my partner’s mother passed away, so returning to them felt like the right thing to do. Looking back now, it was a decision we deeply regret. From the start, the experience was incredibly frustrating. We contacted the solicitor, and Steve told us to email the details, which we did right away. Then… silence. After a week with no reply, we called again and were reassured they would get back to us soon. They didn’t. Two more weeks went by. We chased again, hoping for even the slightest update, and were once again told they’d be in touch. We tried to be patient, thinking maybe they just needed more time. But after nearly 5 weeks of waiting, we called yet again, only to be told Steve wasn’t in the office and to try the following Monday. We did, and still nothing. Then, out of nowhere, on Tuesday, we received a brief email saying they couldn’t help us and that we should look for another solicitor on the Law Society website. After 5–6 weeks of waiting, hoping, and being repeatedly dismissed, that was it. They wasted our time, added stress and showed an alarming lack of care. The communication was awful, and the whole experience felt completely unprofessional and, honestly, disrespectful.

Just been messed about, they have passed me from pillar to post, wasted my time and not helped at all. For family law I would recommend Poole Alcock. They are much friendly and more helpful. Its a shame because Howells used to be so good but both of the last two things I have gone to them for, have resulted in me feeling very dissatisfied. They wont get a third chance!

When hiring a solicitor for your own family and dealing with personal issues with children social services for discriminating against individuals that’s have mild autism and live independently for many years. I don’t have a social life and have mostly remained on my own for many years before I started building my career to earn money and work my way up my studies to pass on health and social care. I know I may not be eligible with the new policy for council to give me a higher priority when they always said I have to go private rented. Plus ever since I met my husband through my work colleague. Authorities don’t believe me and start using my health symptoms against me. I taken my daughter to the right place for help and children hospital have referred me back on child protection and taken photographs of her bruises. I still got my scars on my body from when I hurt myself when I was younger and collapsed many times. All kids hurt theirselves and when we take them for help to hospital they continue to refer to social services constantly. This is no good atal. Especially when I try asking family lawyer if my husband can share same lawyer and she said he needs to have his own lawyer form which will cost him lots of money. It’s no good. Plus this lawyer doesn’t believe me when I speak straight forward with honesty because I have been there and seen what my husband like and accepted my child like his own as not many step parents accept children from previous marriages. It does push you down on you luck and low self esteem with people just trying to break a marriage apart and get couples to have a far distance relationship. When married couples are meant to live together.
