I contacted Julia a week and a half before my best friend's wedding. I had tried to diet like crazy for a month but was still not getting in that bridesmaid dress. Panicking I contacted several seamstresses in Sheffield. Julia responded within half an hour and said she could help. No one else did. We met up at her home based business the following Monday. It's a bit unorthodox but once you're inside it's a cozy flat. She reassured me that she could fix the issue with a corset back. I had to source the fabric but she told me where to go (I wouldn't know where to start) I did this from fine fabrics in Hillsborough (amazing service and great prices!!) and we found the perfect fabric. Within five days Julia has completed my dress. This was a complex dress with a zip going past a middle band with three types of fabric. She created handmade corset loops, corset tie and backing. The end result looked amazing and no one at the wedding thought I'd had it altered. Julia does work at another place so when you contact her just message/call and she'll get back to you when she can. Will definitely use her in the future!

Absolutely fantastic service from Julia. After my place of work decided to dish out a new ‘one size fits all’ uniform, I contacted Julia to alter said shirts. Within a week I had all my shirts altered exactly how I said for a very reasonable price. Since my first visit, I’ve been back numerous times and recommended other colleges to make a visit, who also have nothing but good things to say about the service they received. Please don’t don’t be put off by some of the negative reviews as I’ve had nothing but a professional and welcoming service from Julia.

Julia did an amazing job on my wedding dress. It fits perfectly and the finish is beautiful. She kept in touch throughout the process and the dress was ready to pick up in a couple of days, even though it was beaded and required hand sewing! I would definitely recommend.

I paid Julia to give my daughter sewing lessons. Then the lockdown happened, I spoke with Julia and we agreed to wait. O contacted Julia again more recently, but they just couldn't get together because of Julia's hours and my daughter's work. Do we agreed this want going to happen, I asked for a 50% refund, as Julia had tried. She agreed this but since then, I have chased and chased her for the money. She ignores my messages, she promised to pay me a few weeks ago but didn't, then she promised the money would be in my account last week and it wasn't. Totally unprofessional. Won't be recommending her anytime soon

DON'T USE THIS PERSON FOR ANYTHING! The initial 5* reviews are probably her personal friends or family. My niece took her Bridal dress in for alterations and paid a £90 deposit. She was put off week after week until she asked to pick the dress up. The dress was butchered and had to be revived by a 'professional dress-maker' at a much greater cost. Looking at other later reviews, they seems more realistic. This woman is making money fraudulently and ruining peoples special day.
