I came by the store in Sheffield on 16 Dec and I had a very bad experience with one of the girls at counter. After shopping, I was on the long queue to wait for my turn, with a todler's pushchair and I think everyone there at that time could see me. When I was almost close to check out I remembered my husband who kept my wallet was playing with my son just out of the main entrance. That was reason why I had to break out of the queue and quickly called him get me money to pay. Everything had happened for 2 mins and then when I was back to the queue with my turn, the girl at the counter was grumble and very rude with me, she said I was not on queue, I had to go a big round of the store to start queuing again. Was she crazy??? That was not custormer service!!! And she could see I was with a pushchair and a todler, how could she treat me very impolitely and unsupported? When I said I just left the queue for money within minutes, and everyone still saw me then, she was grudging to do my payment and her face was scornful. I wrote this review 2 weeks after that day but I am still very disapointed because Sos Strengene is one of my favourite shopping place. Besides, I visit this store sometimes and never got as bad as experience like that. So I am still letting them 3 stars and hope they can do it better.
We stumbled across this place a few months ago and now tend to have a look around if we are walking up from the Moor on our way to the centre. The shop is on the ground floor of the modern HSBC building and could easily be missed. However, with all the development going on in this area, this may be set to change. It’s an interesting shop with an eclectic range of household and garden items including chairs (with hammock versions), stationery, greetings cards, baskets, soft furnishings, framed pictures, paints and other art supplies, glassware, candles, herbs and spices, boiled sweets, hand cream, beauty and wellbeing and shovels. They have multi-currency pricing on all items which do not follow the usual pattern of having a .99 or .95 at the end. For example, a glass may be priced at £3.94, and a soap dish will be £3.33, alongside a bath towel costing £12.40. All quite different but it has quite a positive effect on your shopping experience. Not sure if this stems from their Danish origins back in the early 1970s (who knew?!), but it’s a refreshing approach to see today! The shop has a warm and welcoming feel, and you can take your time wandering around the winding layout which has a natural flow of themes and thought-provoking displays. It’s a space in which to constantly think things like, “what a good idea”, “I never thought about that” and “I need to buy that” – even if you’re not exactly sure how you will use it! Certainly, a feel-good place to visit even if you don’t buy anything, as you’ll get inspiration for your next visit!
Wasn't familiar with the brand or what was actually being sold before walking in out of curiosity. So many shops offer a dull experience it's nice to see something a little different. You will pick up on the Scandi hygge vibe I guess as you wander around looking at all the nice items. This place has you covered for items for any room in your house for sure. Tons of crafting supplies for creatives, stationary, candles, seasonal things like Christmas decorations, gifts, child's toys, kind of endless nice products for your home to be honest. I definitely have family members who would love this store, who would end up filling a basket or two. Was surprised at the prices on items, was expecting items to be more expensive. It's the type of shop where it has a one way system, you know the style, so you wont miss anything, and there is some nice music playing throughout your little shopping experience. Staff were pleasant also. Nice shop overall 👍
When looking for originality and a bit of arts and crafts this place is a must visit. The ambiance is relaxing and the music very well chosen. Very friendly staff.
Fantastic new edition to Sheffield Centre. Sort of Flying Tiger meets IKEA market place. Some foods, arts and crafts, kitchen items, cards, gift boxes etc all reasonably priced. Can see myself shopping here for birthday gifts and Christmas stocking fillers
