As a student I have found this shop super useful for getting miscellaneous things, staff have always been friendly too 👍
Well stocked, good prices, friendly staff. No point in driving halfway through the city when you can get what you need in the local hardware store.
Went in today to try get a new lamp holder to mend a 50 year old corroded light fitting after unsuccessfully trying several other shops. Gentleman went above and beyond to assist, taking old one apart to put new holder in, and spending a lot of time. It all works again now, and the old fitting saved, all for £3.25! Good for another 50? First class service from Williamson's of Broomhill as always.
I live close by and like to support local businesses but I have now stopped shopping there. Purchased a couple of things but changed my mind and wanted to exchange them. They were out of stock and do not offer money back. I kinda get this but when politely pressed for an explanation, they became brusque, offering up it's always been like this and we've lasted 63 years. Whether they'll last another 63 years is another matter. Items were also around 20% more expensive than a bricks and mortar competitor.
I bought a switch from Williamson Hardware. The switch was opened by the shop and sold to me in that condition. When the switch was returned (noting it had been opened by the shop and not by me) the shop refused to issue a full refund. Instead I was offered a credit note. This was not ideal. I would have expected a refund in this situation.
