I have never experienced anything like this. I went to return a coat I bought online. I’m severely dyslexic, so I asked for help. The staff told me I would have to go upstairs alone and rummage through the rails to find the coat in my size—if they even had it. I asked why they couldn’t just check on the computer to see if my size was in stock, and they said they “don’t have the means to do that.” I then asked for a credit note so I could sort it online. After giving them my receipt, which clearly showed the coat was £84.99 reduced to £46.99, they tried to issue me a credit note for only £22 — for a £46.99 coat! The whole experience was appalling. I explained that I’m dyslexic and struggle with numbers, yet the woman behind the till (brown hair) made me feel like I was doing something wrong for simply asking for help. There was a long queue, no understanding, and no proper support for people with disabilities. I will never step foot in that store again. I’ll be taking this coat back to Meadowhall instead. Such a disgrace and failure in customer service.

On Friday 26th September, I went to Sports Direct at Moore Market to exchange a pair of sneakers my colleagues had bought me for my birthday. The shoes had only been ordered on 16th September and I brought them in still perfectly packaged, just to swap for the exact same pair in a different size. What followed was the most humiliating and upsetting experience I’ve ever had in a store. The staff member I dealt with was rude, dismissive and treated me in a way that felt blatantly racist. She refused to accept my receipt, claiming it didn’t show the amount paid even though it was clearly visible. When I politely pointed it out, she just waved me off without any real explanation. I left feeling sad and embarrassed As I was heading home, my colleagues sent me the invoice, exactly what the staff member had asked for. I returned to the store happily thinking the issue would now be resolved. But she ignored me completely and it wasn’t until another staff member called her that she reluctantly came to the front. When I showed her the invoice, she again refused to accept it without giving a proper reason. A different staff member reviewed the documents and said everything I had was valid and acceptable. Yet the original staff member kept arguing, whispering and trying to block the exchange. It felt deeply personal. I was being treated with hostility and disrespect and I couldn’t ignore the racial undertone of the entire situation. She caused a scene in front of other customers and made me feel completely humiliated for no reason. I will never shop at Sports Direct again. No customer should be treated this way especially when all they’re doing is following store policy. And to the staff member: I hope you are held accountable. You made what should have been a simple exchange into a painful and humiliating experience.

Recently visited the Sports Direct Sheffield City Centre branch and purchased a pair of shoes. Unfortunately, the customer service at the checkout was very disappointing. The cashier was shouting at customers, showed no welcoming attitude, no smile, and no basic hospitality. When Im paying cash, her attitude was very unprofessional. Customer service is important, and I hope the management provides proper training to staff on how to treat customers politely, atleast how to smile with a customer

Poorly ran store. Visited 28/09, every time we go, there are very few staff around the shoes section upstairs, meaning we have to hunt for a staff member to get shoes to try on. Then when we’ve finally got the shoes we wanted, we also wanted to try some clothes on, but the staff were too busy arguing with each other to focus on allowing entry to the changing rooms. They were then openly criticising other staff members whilst we were going through the paying process.

Nowhere near enough workers, but the ones that they have just blatantly ignore you. Was told to wait while a worker was getting out my shoes, see him walking around doing other things, anything but getting my size shoes. Waited around 15 minutes, just had to leave due to the ignorance.
