Fabulous dining experience at the restaurant. Wonderful dishes in a stylish restaurant with great staff. Both the menu and wine list are very well thought out. We liked the wine option of a caref rather than a full bottle. We were also able to share one of the chefs signature dishes, the cauliflower cheese, not many restaurants would share a dish like this. For a top end restaurant the prices were very reasonable too. Top marks to everyone at the restaurant including Kaite and Phoebe, pooJonathan and Talmo. Looking forward to our next visit and exploring the menu further. Highly recommended.
We dined here for a birthday and anniversary and left deeply disappointed. While a couple of early courses were excellent, the evening quickly unravelled due to inconsistent service, long delays, and one course that was genuinely inedible. Plates were left almost untouched, yet no meaningful attempt was made to address this at the time. The service felt chaotic, with a conveyor belt of staff, some of whom were unprofessional and disengaged. Attention to detail was lacking throughout, from a stained table and uncleared crumbs to mismatched standards of care compared with nearby tables. Even the ambience felt wrong for a restaurant of this type, with rock music that created more of a pub atmosphere than fine dining. We took the time to send detailed, balanced feedback directly to the owner afterwards. The responses we received were dismissive, generic, and showed no real engagement with what was raised. That lack of accountability ultimately confirmed the impression we were left with on the night. This was meant to be a special occasion. It was not treated as such. We will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.
We stayed last night having only booked a couple of days before. What made us choose this hotel, is that you can actually ring them and actually talk to someone - a rare thing in todays world! This is our first stay but won't be our last! We arrived a little early but this wasn't a problem. There is free private parking on site. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean - it had everything we could have wanted/needed. There was a varied choice of food available - all cooked to order. The cooked breakfast was excellent and plentiful as was the blueberry Granola Yogurt bowl. We have to say, all of the staff we met at this hotel are exceptional - so friendly and helpful and clearly focussed on the customer experience - so refreshing. If/when we are in Sheffield we will be staying here again. Thank you to Helen on reception and all the other staff members we met - and those we didn't but were clearly working hard in the background.
We popped in for lunch and mentioned that my partner has an onion allergy. The team went above and beyond to make sure he could still enjoy something from the menu. The lovely lady from marketing helped us so much, and the chef even made a special dish just for us with no onions. The food was amazing, and the staff were absolutely fantastic. Thank you, we will be back
Amazing 90 minute bottomless brunch. The food was delicious, great quality, beautifully cooked and presented. Great selection of cocktails. £38 was good value for the level of quality and service. We were looked after by Katie who was brilliant - attentive, friendly and helpful. I hadn't visited the Psalter since it was taken over a couple of years ago. I'd really recommend it for bottomless brunch or food, especially the small plates.
