Home to over 140 animals, Ponderosa Zoo, based in Heckmondwike is a fun and fact-filled day out for all the family! From exotic birds to small reptiles, there’s endless exploring to be done. Transport yourself to Madagascar in the Lemur Lookout. Giving you the chance to get up close and personal to the animals, the lookout is home to two species of lemur! Do your little ones look for adventure? They can run, jump, climb and swing on the outdoor adventure play area! Or, why not take a trip to the year-round beach and become the next ruler of the sea playing on the pirate ship?

Exploring the zoo is tiring work so refuel at one of the many food offerings Ponderosa Zoo has. With a range of delicious sandwiches, scrumptious cakes and refreshing drinks, Parkside Coffee Shop is the perfect pitstop, with something for everyone. If you need an afternoon pick me up, indulge in a tasty frozen treat at the Ice Cream Parlour. Stopping by the Pizza Shed for delicious homemade slice is the perfect lunch time pick me up (closed during the winter season). Or, experience a warm welcome and delicious food at Lakeside Restaurant, overlooking the picturesque surroundings of the lake at Ponderosa Zoo.
