Very easy to miss this steel bell which was gifted by the Krupp steelworks based in Bochum Germany. Sheffield and Bochum share a connection in steel making. The small area around the bell is pretty overgrown so you will not see this unless you are on the specific side of the walled flower bed. Be nice if it was on a higher frame or something. An additional Bochum bell can be found in Ukraine.
Nice little monument in the middle of Sheffield, although you may walk straight past it. It doesn’t ring!
Presented to the people of Sheffield by the City of Bochum in Germany in 1985, the 35th anniversary of the the twinning. In real life, it is a big steel bell in a flower bed by the Peace Gardens.
