Small but perfectly formed, Yorkshire Natural History Museum! Two children, one aged 60, the other aged 5, had a wonderful time in the Museum. The guides were extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and there enthusiasm for their subject was contagious. The youngest child was over stimulated to the point of exhaustion after about 40 minutes and had to leave clutching a rubber dinosaur skeleton, a shark tooth and a crystal(paid for!). The older child will return with an appropriate adult as there is so much to see. Wonderful that many of the items are sourced in Yorkshire too.

What a brilliant find! Visiting friends in Sheffield and came across this little museum. It is small but still very interesting. Staff were very knowledgeable and passionate, we were speaking to a relatively new staff member and their enthusiasm was wonderful. Really excited to see how this place progresses in the future and we’ll certainly be back to experience the behind the scenes lab option next time!

FASCINATING & FANTASTIC. This is a friendly, family run museum, professionally curated and should appeal to both adults & families with children alike. As others have commented at present the exhibits are in one large room but the space is packed full with interesting fossils. Some are small-scale and require engagement to fully appreciate but there is much to be gained by taking the time to look carefully at each and every item. Admire the quality of the fossils on display. Marvel at the diversity achieved during the fossilisation process. Be sure to ask questions. There are many knowledgeable people on hand to help and educate including the museum founder, James, who is a trove of information. This place is a must-visit for anyone with an interest in paleontology. Look, learn and be impressed!

Myself and sons visited here for the first time - it is small but the staff were amazing - we had what was essentially a private lecture for an hour with Tom, who was so knowledgeable and engaging. My eldest loves dinosaurs and science but even my youngest who isn't as enthusiastic was enthralled. We stayed for just over an hour as I didn't want to push it with the youngest (8yrs), but myself and my eldest (12yrs) could have stayed longer and will be back for the lab experience at some point soon. We were talking all the way home about what we'd learnt 🥰🙌 Definitely worth a visit for dinosaur/natural history buffs.

On Holme Lane, near Towsure. Took my nephews who are mad about fossils. The guide upstairs was extremely friendly and informative. She knew ruins about the exhibits. My nephew loved it, but I thought it was expensive for just a one room museum. £4.00 for adults and £2.00 for children.
