Nice area of Sheffield, only saw it in January, I guess the gardens would be a sight to behold with floral display in summer months. There is a temporary ice rink there today, as the European Figure skating championships are being held in Sheffield this week.
The Peace Gardens, next door to Sheffield's Town Hall, is a space for relaxation and contemplation surrounded by a busy urban environment. One can sit on a bench and admire the colourful flowers and people watch, or just relax. It's a space to meditate and admire the surrounding buildings, some of the finest in town. The Town Hall is well known as a particularly ornate building and one can sit on one of the benches, relax, study the architecture, or read a book, or indulge in people watching, all for free!
Lovely place for a nice steady saunter around. Some excellent architecture. Plenty of places for refreshment.
Beautiful place to sit and relax. Also wonderful fountain for children to play.
Central open space. Great for meeting others or simply chilling out (weather permitting). Lots of restaurants/bars all around to suit every budget.
