Hields Aviation was established by Robert Hields in 1989 and is Yorkshire’s premier provider of helicopter flight training, helicopter charter and helicopter pleasure flying. Our base at Sherburn In Elmet Airfield is just 15 miles from the city of Leeds and close by the Cathedral city of York.

Our helicopters are operated and maintained to Public Transport Certification standards approved by the CAA. Our Air Operators Certificate means that we can fly passengers commercially and also undertake what is known as ‘Aerial Work’, such as pleasure flying, television and movie filming work and other professional helicopter flying tasks. Our pilots are all professionals and work in accordance with the rules set out by the CAA and Europe’s EASA governing bodies.

Training flights are extremely cost effective, with no transit flights to training areas, you are training in a friendly environment that makes for rapid, cost effective progress.

Pleasure flying from our base is a pleasant and friendly affair, with our location making it easy for wonderful flights across York, Leeds or the majestic Yorkshire countryside.
