Hirst Wood Nursery School

Absolutely in love with this school! All staff is very lovely and caring, the setting is perfect for kids to learn and play, and the curriculum is well organised and presented to parents in weekly letters. I’ll be sending my 2nd child here too! ♥️

AMAZING NURSERY SCHOOL!! I have had two children in this nursery, and two more to go. I absolutely love this nursery so much. The headteacher Jayne is fantastic. I was astonished to see that on the first day of nursery, Jayne recognised each parent and child and remembered their names. I observed this whilst stood in the queue, and thought she simply ‘knew’ all of these parents… until she acknowledged me and my son by our first names! We had only met her once before at stay and play. Caroline who is on the desk is also an absolute credit to the nursery. Always happy to help and very cheerful. All the teachers, assistants and staff members are brilliant. The nursery rooms are huge and children have a set time where they can have free play and freely walk around the nursery into the other rooms. Outside space is also large. They have certain activities every year which include the mobile farm, where the children get to see farm animals in the nursery car park. They also take the children on a Gruffalo walk down to Hirst wood, and they have external professional teams come in to teach them how to ride balance bikes. I think they also have specific SEN places now, and also have a sensory room which my boys think is the disco room! I honestly do not have a bad word to say about this nursery. My children are happy and safe here! Thank you Hirst Wood Nursery School.
