Being going since June and overall relatively happy and do think it's better than let's say the slightly cheaper Puregym so the price set is just about justified. It is clean and never noticed some of the issues with hygeine mentioned on the other reviews. Where improvements can be made are with some of the Smith machines where each cable feels different to the next, so find myself waiting for 1 particular cable to get the best workout. It was said the equipment except the ladies section was less than 1 year old, which shocked me because the larger Smith machine feels much much older and the dumbbells are difficult to see due to the style of them. Also, some of the dumbbells feel loose in the hands, but that's probably because of an issue with how people handle the weights where they constantly drop them with no care, so the equipment gets worn down much faster than hoped (the same applies with the Smith machine and all equipment in general really). The treadmills have video tech, which some people may like, but not for me and prefer the lack of huge screen with the more generic being my preference; however, have noticed them being out of order from time to time, so not sure if that's due to tech issues from the screen? Speaking of treadmills, the far left one next to the window shakes and feels different to the others whilst running. Same with the bikes where the same level was applied on the far left bike, although it was so much more difficult on the same level as some of the other bikes. The punchbag is probably the hardest one I've ever hit and must be filled with concreteđ, so having to consider using hand wraps as well as gloves if wanting to hit with 80% or higher force. Overall, the above probably looks quite negative, but it's easier to hone in on what can be improved as opposed to the positives. Just wish people treated the equipment better too because people dropping heavy weights or Smith machine cables is not only damaging equipment, but making it ridiculously loud, so if anybody has a heart condition, do not go to this gymđ€Ł I do appreciate this isn't the gyms fault and can't be helped overall with how people with a lack of respect use stuff. On the contrary, it does have a lot of equipment to help get the best out of your workouts and having those options does allow you to mix it up too when needed. Overall, it's probably worth what you pay for due to the range of equipment, hygeine and facilities and should the above improvements be made, it will take my 3.5 stars to at least a 4.5.
Its a good gym but for myself I only really used the cardio stuff and the treadmills at the top of the stairs need replacing. Some of them sound like they are on their last legs when your using them especially the one closest to the window it not only shakes crazy but it is so loud. Staff were always great and the sauna etc is great.
Unlike most gyms, this one didnât feel intimidating at all when we first walked inâit was the complete opposite of what I expected. The atmosphere felt welcoming from the get-go. The staff were not only super professional but also genuinely friendly and supportive. Big love to Chris, Vicki, and Sharonâthey were so easy to talk to and helped us out with every little question we had. Even though I wasnât nervous about joining, I was honestly surprised at just how calm and inviting the vibe is. Itâs got that peaceful energy that actually motivates you to turn up and trainânot something you find everywhere trust me I know its the 3rd gym I've tried to join. The gym is loaded with top-quality equipment and a huge range of facilities: think group fitness classes, relaxing saunas, sunbeds, and even a red light laser therapy room (yes, really!). The bathrooms are just as impressiveâspotless, stylish, with modern showers, spacious changing rooms, and secure lockers. Best part? Itâs open 24/7, so youâre getting real value for your money. With a massive selection of machines, dedicated women-only zones and sessions, and so many ways to move, sweat, and feel goodâthis gym doesnât just tick boxes. It makes working out something to look forward to.
The staff are great and very friendly, and itâs a 24 hour gym with a decent range of equipment which is good. However, the equipment is incredibly worn. There are often âout of orderâ signs on equipment and sometimes you get set up just to find it doesnât work, like the cable row. The weights are also not correctly calibrated on the pulleys, meaning you need to precariously add free plates to the stack. Weights often arenât put away by other clientele (I appreciate this isnât the fault of the gym, there are plenty of signs up about putting things back) and the ceiling drips water. There is a clear level of care from management, theyâre always trying to improve areas and a new mens changing room has just been put in, but itâs the basics that are frustrating. At ÂŁ40 a month itâs not a cheap gym either, and these issues are inexcusable. If it wasnât so local and open 24 hours, Iâd likely go to a different gym in the area. If you live in the Shipley/ Saltaire area, this is probably the best gym in the area, but Iâd like to see a lot more attention given to the equipment.
Good gym, equipment abit dated but can see they are always looking to do new things. New lady Vicky is very friendly and helpful makes you feel very comfortable and welcome. Noticed it been very clean past few months. Think could do with a permanent friendly face on reception as sometimes itâs difficult to find someone and noticed people hanging round reception with the different hours anyone on there. If you need help with membership or any queries. Itâs difficult when no1 there or in the gym to ask or if there doing a class.
