Lovely little park - feels small maybe because it’s long and thin, following the river. But it does provide a nice escape from the town centre, and a pleasant way of getting to the Racecourse if you prefer not to drive. It is certainly packed with activity potential, tennis courts to play parks, to feeding the ducklings or goslings (May is a good time for this), and pretty autumnal walks watching the grey squirrels chase each other endlessly round trees. A tip - we found they’re rather partial to cashews 😉 It often feels quite empty here, unlike the museum gardens on the other side of town (also good for squirrel watching).

Simply beautiful and dog friendly! A half hour walk from downtown on a clean, flat path alongside the water. Really special views and gardens

A beautiful old-fashioned Park that really works hard to encourage nature, birds, butterflies and bees. With a small woodland walk, a pond with a little island for all the ducks and moorhens etc. Yet it also has a skateboard park, tabletennis, tennis courts etc. A really lovely cafe too where you can buy bird food and delicious coffee and cake to reward your walk round. . But you will need to use a stairway to access the cafe.

The cafe is brilliant. Better than any pretentious cafe in the centre of York. We stayed at the nearby campsite & walked here for breakfast. Savoury and sweet options to cater for any taste. Excellent full English. Delicious cakes. A gorgeous setting too! Will definitely be back.

Beautiful park space with lots of paths to walk along and plenty open space. Tennis facilities are extensive and the cafe is really pretty too.
