Guild of Lacemakers meeting on the third Thursday of every month, 10 am till 3 pm Lovely people
I've started to frequent this Church more for my wife's sake. I'm very critical still of the kind of service and the individuals who lead the service. However, there is one exceedingly intelligent superstar of the Church called Philip, his Sunday name, the leading Pastor. If Phil led the congregation weekly, I'd probably feel a lot more comfortable, but he doesn't! Those other Sundays always tend to run over. They don't tend to realise that one may be two hymns at a time is enough, and the lay preachers in general like the sound of their own voices. Sure, I may be very critical, but in over 60 years of visiting churches throughout the world, as well as speaking publicly, I think that I may have an understanding of how to keep people interested. One thing is for sure, though Phil definitely knows how to keep your interest every time he speaks!
Wonderful church. Congregation of varied age and types of people. Good preaching and worship. Lots of community activities through the week.
Lively services, Messy hands playgroup, Mini hands playgroup. Well being cafe in 'the House', next door to church. Linked to CAP centre and Skipton food bank. See the website for youth work.
Visited the church this morning whilst on holiday. Good worship and solid insightful preaching although not especially friendly towards a solo visitor of mature years.
