Stayed here for a couple of days. Lovely place, rooms were lovely. Staff as friendly as could be, Restaurant was very nice, the food was to a very high standard, tasted delicious and a lovely presentation. Really handy spot just a few minutes from the top off the high street. We had a great time. WE WILL BE BACK.

I can't rate this accommodation highly enough. From the moment we arrived until the time we had to depart was a real joy. The location is ideal for the town, castle and other attractions, and good free dedicated parking. I loved the "Yorkshire" breakfast, and we had a superb evening meal. Our room was much larger than we expected and lovely. All of the staff were very helpful and genuinely friendly, and we are hoping to return again next year. Well Done The Curios Fox.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with our dining experience at The Curious Fox which looked so promising. The menu on the website appeared to have vegan options but when dining there was only one vegan main course, no starter or desert. Started with soup which was delicious but all went downhill from there. My Dad had the steak which was tough and full of fatty bits. I had avocado & mango salad with extra chicken which I paid Β£6 for and was not a full chicken breast and was cooked to the point it was hard. I thought the service from the waitresses was attentive and pleasant but did not like the attitude of the manager. I had a particular issue with the approach he took in respect of my dog. I had asked in advance whether I could bring my dog and, as I would expect, β€˜well behaved’ dogs are permitted. I fully accept that my dog let out a single bark on a couple of occasions but do not accept this was disruptive to the ambience of the restaurant or that it disturbed other diners. We were sat away from the main part of the restaurant and I doubt my dog could be heard above the pounding loud music. But nonetheless, I found him intolerant and unpleasant when he warned me about my dog. I immediately removed my dog from the restaurant. I do think that restaurants in Skipton that want to capitalise on the high number of visitors who have dogs do need to put their customers first and be a bit more accepting of the occasional bark.

Visited last Sunday for lunch with 2 family members and was not disappointed. What a find! The food was very good, we all had the roast dinner, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the staff were wonderful. One of our party was in a wheelchair. We had to park round the back in a hotel guest space as there was no space on the road alongside. We were asked to use the side door for the restaurant but we failed to notice the ramp up from the terrace which would have been much easier than the uneven cobbled path up the side which was quite tricky with a wheelchair. One of the staff ( ? Owner) came out to look for us and offered to help. Access was no problem once we reached the door and the staff were so helpful, finding a space for the wheelchair and making sure our guest was comfortable, all done with minimal fuss. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive, we weren’t rushed with our choices. We hope to visit again in the not too distant future.

We were looking for a decent stay in Skipton to mark our first wedding anniversary and we got so much more than decent. From the second we arrived, we were greeted by staff, luggage taken for us and shown to our room. The decor was country pub with quirky additions and it was fab. Our room was exceedingly clean and fresh. The staff followed shortly behind with a complimentary fizz for our celebration which was an added touch of class. The furniture was high quality wood, nothing flimsy or cheap in sight. Had a good night of sleep, quality mattress and bed linens. The singular issue we experienced was other guests slamming doors on Sunday morning but we were already awake. We had a couple of forgetful moments leaving personal belongings but staff helped us become reunited. Lee and Jeanette have set a high bar for other Skipton properties. Would definitely stay again.
