Travelling from Wirral to our cottage in Great Broughton, we decided that we would stop off at Walkers in Skipton, as it was highly recommended on Google. Another factor in our choice was that dogs are not allowed. We were lucky to find parking on Chapel Hill which was just over the road. The cafe was clean, well appointed and the staff were friendly. There was a good selection of food and drink at a reasonable price. Downstairs was the cake shop were we made several purchases and have really enjoyed tasty cakes in the cottage.
Superb location for breakfast and a coffee with excellent views of the church and castle. I opted for the scrambled egg on sourdough toast with bacon, eggs were cooked perfectly and the nice salty bacon complimented it well. Great value for money and highly recommend.
Ordered some treats to take home and was really disappointed. The lemon drizzle was super dry and barely tasted of lemon, the mars crisp was hard as rock, and the pasties were stale. The saving grace were the custard tarts, they were awesome. It seemed as everything was just several days old, sad but I won't be returning after that experience.
Delicious Cornish pasty, swapped the chips for coleslaw. My husband enjoyed an afternoon, good value. Enjoyed the views of Skipton Castle while sitting upstairs and the sunshine.
Walkers make the best , if not the best of Christmas minced pies ! We have tried all major brands and in our opinion Walkers are very difficult to beat! Excellent sweet pastry and the fruit - mix has a lovely combination of sweetness with a hint of sharpness ! Wonderful!
