After not being impressed with Busy Lizzie's last time we were in Skipton I decided to try Newmarket and I'm glad I did. Really nice , big flaky fish nice batter. Chips were great and curry sauce some of best I've ever had. Nice one!

I had been looking forward to food from here ahead of arriving in Skipton, only to find they were closed for a week over the holidays, fortunately they reopened the day before I was leaving and I’m so pleased they did. Fish and chips the like you only get from a family run Yorkshire chippy, more than worth the wait or a trip out of your way.

Went today after being told best fish and chips in Skipton, unfortunately I did not get chance too try. I ordered two light bites and asked the lady if she could wrap fish together and chips together, she responded with no, they get wrapped fish with chips, I asked again as I was reheating later on and the fish would get soggy, still no, I asked why as it’s the same amount off paper as fish in one, chips in the other, her response was you are buying a fish with chips so that’s how they get wrapped. I left the shop and went too westmoreland st fisheries where they were happy too do this Very disappointed

Fabulous food, delicious, succulent fish. Only polite suggestion- update your menu. After I ordered, clearly the locals came in and ordered “ The Special” non of the visitors had a clue what the special was. Food & service exceptional.
