This place certainly has the look and feel that you expect from a traditional butchers. Difficult to define, that combination of a friendly welcome, good service, and a display of food I could just stand and look at all day long if I didn't need to make my mind up and buy something. I just wish I'd bought a pork pie. I'm ashamed to say I passed on that when I was there, but now having read some of the other reviews I definitely have some unfinished business here to return for.
Quality pork pie, it tasted absolutely delicious I would definitely call here again
Ive been getting pies and things from these guys through my local shop and I think best in town by far. My favourite is the pork cheese and pickle I love it. Definitely going to have to visit the shop itself and meet the team behind such lovely creations
Bought a pork pie from here which hubby enjoyed. We also bought some sausages later. I nearly had to pick him up off the floor when it cost nearly £9 for 5 and a half sausages. They’d better be good or I’ll never hear the end of it. Update .. well we have had the sausages this morning and they were underwhelming. They were supposed to be pork and apple but you could neither see nor taste any apple and the skin on them was as tough as old boots. Had better from Tesco
Update - still the best quality pork & apple pie for miles but the unfortunately the amount of pork in those pies has reduced from previous experiences. Whenever in Skipton I always call here at opening time for a warm fresh pork and apple pie, the best for miles. I spied a tray of warm scotch eggs and couldn't resist sampling one, and very pleased that I did. Wonderful polite service here also makes it a five star experience.
