Visited for a quick lunch on a shopping visit and was impressed by the vibrant, slightly quirky interior of the place. Plenty to choose from on the menu and prices seemed reasonable. Some of the choices were fairly basic, but sometimes I find that's all I want anyway. And even the beans on toast were placed on the plate with care. Special mention for the soup of the day. Wensleydale and Cauliflower. Just had to try it and it was delicious.
Hot chocolates were so weak and couldn’t taste chocolate at all. I got whipped cream on top and they topped it with a mix of chocolate powder and a lot of sugar. Shows just the cocoa they use is a cheap sugary mix not real bournville drinking chocolate/cocoa. £4.50 is a rip off for this. Scones looked like they were the ones from Tesco not a local bakery. Jam tasted cheap and wasn’t a preserve. £3.50 is very steep for this. Biscoff white chocolate cake tasted like cinnamon cake and a tiny bit of discuss drizzle on top. Paid an extra £1 for ice cream with the cake, it was a cheap horrible tasting ice cream, didn’t taste like vanilla. Place has gone downhill and is overpriced. Won’t be coming back.
Four of us went here for a cake break and we had a nice time. We tried a slice of carrot cake, white chocolate cake and a strawberry cake. The carrot cake was the best. The lady who served us was very kind. The interior decor is quite beautiful too. Thank you
We used to love this place. So we took our niece and her baby. The staff were rude from the outset. Partner and niece went to the counter to order and were rudely told that someone will come to the table to order. They both said they felt like they’d been told off for going up to the counter!! We waited for a long time for someone to come take our order but it was busy so this was understandable to a degree. Food was average. Drinks were nice. Not sure I’d be bothered about going back.
Just to say well done to the team at Skipton today. You were run off your feet but we received service with a smile and a lovely lunch. We queued and were kept updated all the time. Our lunch was lovely too.
