Unlike the castle whose grounds the chapel shares, this building suffers no split personality when it comes to what it is. This is an imposing ruin for sure, the soaring stone walls and empty windows arches whispering loudly of what once had been as you cast your eye over the place. A worthwhile addition to what will already have been a good day out at the castle.

The Chapel is in the Skipton Castle Bailey grounds, the Font appears out of place and is mounted on a later octagonal base. I noted the day before that the All Saints Church just a few yards away has a similar medieval octagonal base with a later looking Font. The Medieval Font may have been in use in the Chapel during the 3yr siege, or simply placed here as a tourist attraction. More research required I think. 👍

Not really for anyone with mobility issues. £12 entry the volunteers are great and super helpful. It's dog friendly too. The rooms are mostly empty, so the whole visit lasts probably 2 hours. Nice cafe and shop.
