Visiting mid-week there was a lot of space. Had no signal to pay but this was easy enough to follow up later. You've 48 hours to avoid a £50 charge but rates are reasonable. It's a comfortable walk down to the falls from here but paths are uneven and steep in places but the trees give a nice dappled shade.
Lovely well maintained walk to the tea room alongside the beck. Those complaining about no signal.. bliss.. and you can pay for your car park within 48 hours using the app if you're honest. Only down side was the number of dog poo bags people seem to think it's OK to leave. Please people, pick up your dog poo and take it with you and don't leave it for others to do.
Very nice area was a little shocked to see a Ringgo payment required but it's not too bad for 4hrs £3.30 on total once you pay through the app they charge 15p for service and 15p for booking fee cheeky buggers. But you get 48hrs to pay oddly it doesn't auto show on the app as I was assuming there was a ANPR camera or some sort but no. You select the date and time you arrived your vehicle reg you have in the app and pay with Google pay and your done get a email receipt for confirmation so it's good. We only had a small walk me and my partner to the Tea room as first time we've been, we wasn't properly dressed for it shall we say lol jeans don't cut it. So next time we go well be properly prepared the tea rooms are lovely nice and quite and bacon butty was £5 but spot on 5 slices of mostly fat free bacon in a lovely bap. Has toilets as well which is nice you get no signal at all in this area would have been nice of they had maybe a donations tub to help pay towards a public WiFi network but I suppose it's an area you come to sort of get away from people and the mobile usage. Had a waterfall near by as well we couldn't figure out how to get down but you have to go up and around to get there, we'll do that next time.
What an incredible place! So many amazing walks start from here with some fantastic sights including water falls and a 300 year old Hermitage! The woodland round here and the river that runs around is nothing short of breathtaking!
Visiting the nearby Waterfall and stream which is a very picturesque area in Yorkshire. Visited after a very dry spell so waterfall not at its full force but still beautiful to see. Various walks can be taken from this point to see many views and other little streams and falls.
